WHY NO CBH AWARD

It came as a shock and disappointmentto many Hockey fans when the Best Player Award of the MJHL  was not announced as the Chua Boon Huat trophy.

Chua passed away in Auhust 2013 and the following year it was decided that the trophy will bear the name of the Malacca born player.

And members of his family were always invited for the MJHL final to present the award.

It is inexcusable for such an omission with the excuse being its anew set of people running the national body.

There are many that are willing to step forward to take accolades for things others have done yet these same personalities are hiding or doing a deflection when a grave error is committed.

Some have been there longer then the furniture and should have given the proper advise to those who are new.

An apology to the family of Chia has to be made and the error rectified.

Let us remember the contribution of a Son of Hockey that brought glory and Honour to our great nation.

FAREWELL NARANJAN

After battling for six months, Naranjan Singh passes away due to a massive heart Attack at the Serdang Hospoyal this morning.

The bachelor dedicated his life Hockey for decades as an umpire and technical official.

When he was first admitted to hospital last September, the Hockey fraternity rallied to help him cover medical costs and he was grateful to all.

Each time he went for his check up he would call me to update me on his condition,  somehow he knew that he was not going to make it.

He had told me that all will be over by March and little did I realise he will leave us so suddenly.

I came to know Naeabjan through hockey and the special bond we shared was also due to we had the same surname Dhaliwal.

He was kindhearted, a great Friend and above all a very honest individual, never getting upset no matter how difficult things got.

It was a year ago while sitting at the Pulapol Tenple that Narabjan told me he had never been appointed as a tournament director in his 43 years of service to the sport.

A week later his dream came true as he was appointed asTD for the National Under 16.

Narabjan will be best remembered the way he lived his life, jovial and always willing to lend a helping hand to all.

He had a great bond with his late Father Amar Songh as they were more like friends the Father and Son.

Besides hockey, his passion was Cricket and he was looking forward to catching the 2020 Workf Cup.

Naranjan would have turned 61 this May and his demise has left many in a state of shock and despair.

While we offer condolences to his family, let's also offer him a prayer so that his journey to meet his creator will be smooth.

The funeral will be held at the Lole Yew Xrematorium  at noon on Monday with the cortège leaving  as follows /
