AHF U18 - PAKISTAN SENT CRASHING, MALAYSIA EDGE SINGAPORE 2-1

Malaysia defeated Singapore 2-0 to make the final of the AHF Under 18 Tournament in Singapore.

In the first semi final, South Korea sent favourites and defending champions Pakistan crashing out, inflicting a 2-1 defeat at the Sengkang  Sports & Recreational Complex in Singapore.

The match was played in scorching heat and that affected the performance of the Pakistanis, who sailed through the group stage without conceding a goal.

Pakistan took the lead in the 24th minute through Waseem Abas of a penalty corner.

But Korea hit back in the 48th minute through Hwang Weon Ki, also through a penalty corner.

And the fitter Koreans netted the winner five minutes from time through Kim Ji Woon.

Pakistan’s task was made even more difficult when they had two players yellow carded, Umair Muhammad (68th minute) and Hassan Mansoor (69th minute).
